Freaky Video Game

December 15th, 2006

For those of you who like to play video games about the second coming (who doesn’t?), there’s a new video game by the makers of the Left Behind series– Left Behind: Eternal Forces.

Supposedly, the idea behind this racist game is to blow up non-Christians: Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, etc. Nice way to teach the kids about Christian respect and tolerance.
Very freaky. But, you gotta admit the folks behind this whole series are marketing whizzes.

Crocheted coral reef- very cool

December 7th, 2006

Crafty folks or scuba diving fans: check out this link to a crocheted “Hyperbolic Coral Reef”. For those of you who know fun fur or eyelash yarn, this is definitely the coolest use I have seen of what can be some pretty ugly yarn!

You can submit your own crochet contribution to the reef here.

How the other 2% lives?

December 5th, 2006

UN study finds that the richest 2% of the world’s adults own 50% of the world’s wealth. Sad that this isn’t surprising.

How dumb can U.S politicians sound in international media?

December 1st, 2006

I love this quote, “It’s a good action“, made by Arnold Schwarzenegger about the VERY questionable and controversial swearing in of Calderon as the new Mexican president. What were Bush and Schwarzenegger doing at the swearing in of Calderon anyway? No shame in the free-market good ol’ boys’ club.

P.S. Argh. . . apparently the quote made Schwarzenegger look like too much of an idiot, because after I made the link the BBC cut the quote by him! I swear it quoted him as saying, “It’s a good action” and referenced Bush and Schwarzenegger’s attendance at the swearing in. . . see this Houston Chronicle article for the quote.
