Writing is painful.
February 25th, 2007So I haven’t written for awhile and that’s because I have been trying to get my first chapter of my dissertation done– a very slow and painful process!
I met with my writing group on Thursday to show them what I had so far and. . . yikes! Not a very positive response. But, they were right. I haven’t been writing from my perspective but instead have been trying to fit what I write into some lame theoretical framework. BORING!
I just returned to the chapter today, starting all over, and its amazing how much better I feel about the darn thing and how much easier the wrting is going. Good reminder that you can’t write for others! Here’s to hoping I can get this draft done before spring break. . .
